I’m Setske, a certified Embodiment Coach and Holistic Therapist. I’ve spent over 20 years supporting others in their healing journeys but I’ve also had to find my own way back from burnout.
In 2011, I was teaching part-time, supporting early school leavers, while offering CranioSacral treatments from home. I believed in the work. I cared deeply about my students. In lots of ways, I had a lot going for me: a well-paying job, my own home, good friends.
I had chronic migraines, a hyperthyroid issue and felt completely exhausted. Emotionally, I felt like a failure, comparing myself to the other teachers who seemed to manage it all so well.
Old feelings of not being or doing enough as well as the imposter syndrome in me were very present. The struggle of trying to hold it all together, all caught up with me. I knew I couldn't stay in that environment and that something had to change.
Slowly, through meditation, as well as other techniques I was able to reset my nervous system and connect with my body again. I began to rebuild not just my health, but my overall sense of wellbeing. I rediscovered my passion and what I really wanted to do. At the end of 2011, I left the education system. I left the country. I chose a new beginning.
